Never had one copied, campground or motel, but looked at at both.
If they wanted to photocopy, I'd probably walk!
You are absolutely right, may be for damage caused. I saw an old RVer about 90 drive over sewer connection with his toad. Seems to me he should have paid for the damage. I doubt he did. I guess no different than someone who hits your vehicle in a parking lot and skeedadles so he doesn't have to pay for damage.
