I see kindred souls in all the responses here There are times and places to let your hair down or to keep it up.
I like the comment of respect when it applies accordingly to the time and place.

I believe Jake needs to get back on the meds...or get on the troll train. As illustrated...neither common courtesy or common sense are very common.

pnichols,,, So,, I should not enjoy myself if I camp next to some one?? I should not have lights,a fire, bbq or smoker,I should not do anything except look out my windows and hope I am not upsetting any one? RV parks and private campgrounds have strict rules about all of the above.. Have only been to a few,, very nice and quiet and calm,, we enjoyed and complied. But most county,state and local campgrounds are comprised of all kinds of campers,, quiet, noisy, busy,dog lovers, hoards of kids running wild and unsupervised etc. It is what it is..
My aim is not to irritate my fellow campers,, I play with in the rules. I have had "over the top neighbors" and it doesn't bother me,, it's the luck of the draw.. Yet I do not "shoot their lights out" nor do I complain.. I enjoy what I have and do not let some one ruin it for me.

If my neighbors have annoying lights and big camp fires and I am not in the mood for it,, I either move or leave!!! All these other folks complaining about other campers and there non conformity to what they believe others should do is funny!!!

I can see if you are at an exclusive private camp club and some camper colors outside of the lines,, I would be upset also..
But for the most part,, it communal living for a short period of time.. Get Over It!!

I grew up in a large city,, If I got upset by my neighbors not living exactly with in my rules then I would have never survived,, maybe I am just a little thicker skinned than you.... Been to some large campgrounds in Santa Cruz and surrounding areas,,,not the perfect neighbor atmosphere if I may comment.. not saying it was NASCAR camping,,,,but close!!!

2:30 in the morning and the neighbors were asleep??? Were camping!!! Enjoy!!

What gives you the right to infringe on MY happy place? Look up the word RESPECT. Me thinks you need a lesson on boundaries. Your "it's all about ME" attitude is a problem for many.

Ha!! Last I checked,, lights,camp fires,food smoke and tvs are allowed in my camp grounds,, And if I choose to use all of those things Who are you to judge me and say its all about me?? Really,, Where is the room for you to respect my enjoyment??
My trailer has wheels on it and If they happen to be at a campground with neighbors does that mean I have to live like a turtle in my little habitat?? No way bucko!! I am living life large,, I decorate my camp site and we spend as much time outside as possible,, I do have respect for my fellow campers, where it runs thin is the self righteous individual that is going to dictate how I will celebrate my freedom!!

Sure do hope I get to camp right next to some of you,, I go out of my way to introduce my self and see what your all about!! Ribs and beer are on me!!!
