in a hurry

I was driving home on I40 in Tenn. yesterday in the rain in a rental car. Rained from Nashville to NC line.

Anyway I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a PU coming on fast. I was doing 75. He blew by me like I was sitting still pulling a pretty good size 5th wheel. Must have been doing 85 in the rain.

We were amazed at how fast he got out of site. I've seen some fast towing but never like that.

I hope he at least upgraded his tires.

Maybe he had some kind of emergency, but it looked like he was getting ready to create one.

Just a reminder to be safe on the road or stay home and watch TV. At least other drivers would be safe then. JMO

Yes and they have tires rated to run that fast MOST, RV trailers don't. MOST TT, and 5ers have tires rated to 6+5 MPH. Believe it or not. there is a difference between a trailertruck, and a 5th wheel RV
  • I'll be buying new tires in the next few weeks, and I'm going to give the new Goodyear Endurance a try. American made, and N rated (87 MPH). I won't go any faster than I do now, but it will be nice to have that cushion. I just read also that Jayco is making them standard on their new units from now on. It was not an official notice from Jayco, but an online review on the Endurance ST tire.
  • I'm strongly considering an N rated tire as well, for fuel economy I'll probably run like I always have but the greater margin will be nice. I usually run 67, fast enough that the trucks limited to 65 aren't playing leapfrog with me and slow enough that the guys that aren't limited aren't spending a ton of time passing me and holding up traffic. I check my pressures every trip and temps with an IR thermometer every stop.
