- magentawaveExplorerWould it be crazy to use a Nuwave as the only stove in a motorhome with 500 watts of solar, a couple batteries, and NO SHORE POWER?
Thank you.
(I hope you don't mind but I asked this question on a couple other threads where the Nuwave was mentioned just so I can get a few more opinions.) - BobboExplorer IICast iron is WONDERFUL on it.
- portscannerExplorerI am curious if anyone is using cast iron cookware on it.

What about simmering big pots like a marinara or soups? Can it be done, or is there a risk buring the bottom in the center of the pot?
When frying stuff that splatters, DW routinely puts a layer of paper towels down on the stovetop, puts the skillet on top of the paper towels, and fries away. Any heat that gets to the paper towel is from the bottom of the hot pan, and is not hot enough to do more than slightly discolor the paper towel. - paulcardozaExplorerAnother huge fan here with the Nu-Wave..... I hate having to get the big Propane Tank filled. Haven't had to in 2+ years and its still 3/4 full.

Set the temperature control for 180°F and you won't have a problem. - paulsangExplorerWhat about simmering big pots like a marinara or soups? Can it be done, or is there a risk buring the bottom in the center of the pot?
- BobboExplorer IIIt has to be a ferrous metal that a magnet will stick to. Stainless steel that a magnet won't stick to will not work.

Don't have one, but know what they are.
It is a big AC magnet, which induces an electrical current in a metal (cast iron would be best) pot which then heats the pot internally. The cooktop itself does not get hot, although it will warm up as the pot heats it from above.
It will not cook things in ceramic or glass pots, it requires a metal pot.
Some folks swear by 'em.
It requires a ferrous metal. No aluminum. - rvtenExplorerDW just bought an Induction cook top today. At the Winnebago GNR rally.
Tried it tonight. Sure beats the H--- out of G.Formun grill.
