Rings and watches are not a problem. First, it needs to be a metal that a magnet will attract. Second, it has to be in very close/touching the surface of the unit or it will shut itself off. It will not reach out and heat something that is not directly on top of it.

As I understand the operation of ours it has to be in contact to operate. We have one for camper and one for the house. Love it. Larry

Just buy a single induction burner and use it on top of the stove if you have a cover for it.

I think they are neat, but I don't think I would want to be left without our gas stove. We bought an electric hot plate to use when hooked up on full hook ups. Saves our propane.

For the reasons of electric consumption mentioned above, we chose to go with the gas burners and then purchased a stand alone induction burner. Purchased the cover for the gas burners on CW to gain more counter space.

It would be nice if you could get both gas burners and induction burners for those of use who like to do it all!!!

I replaced my propane stovetop with a custom sized heavy duty cutting board and got two portable induction units. I can now use one or both of them on top of the cutting board or just use one or use one on top of the cutting board and one accross the coach to just simmer something. Nice and flexible and no fume smells in the coach.

If you boondock, unless you wish to run the generator lots, a beefed up battery bank and a pure sine wave inverter may be needed.

Not just Class A's. That is the model that my fiver came with and my wife considers it to be far better than the gas cooktops that are standard equipment in most RV's.
