Here's the deal: On day one (after this week long trip)I contacted Discount Tire and explained to them what has happened. They filled out some paper work at the store and took the 3 carcases from me and sent them back to the tire mfgr. along with a damage claim from my TT (no RV pic's were sent in) written up by Discount tire. Days later I contacted my ins. company and explained to them what has happened and after speaking with them I decided to wait until I hear something back from the tire mfg. 2 weeks later tire mfgr. calls and tells me that all 3 tires are defective and they will pay for the TT damages as a result of the 3 blow outs. She also said that their normal procedure is to have customers file a claim with their ins. co. and then have ins. co. get refunded by them (tire mfgr) and customer will get re-imbursed deductibles (have to confirm that assumption). I second guessed that policy and asked why ins. has to get involved and was told that "it is just the way we do it"... Then I got insurance involved and found out (3 different people later) that I am probably going to have to pay the 3 different deductibles? I have the ability and resources to fix this myself but will need approval from my lien holder if that is the way I want to go. There's nothing shady about this either! I just want a legit quote and ins. to hand me a check or get it fixed with only one $500 Ded. I have receipts from tire purchases, pictures of damages and an insurance road side claim (to bail me out of the spare tire blow out $320) and an insurance adj. coming out tomorrow to look at this and an E-mail from Greenball stating that they the 3 tires are defective. What I don't like is the fact that I have to come up with $1500 and I know I'm probably gonna have to bite the bullet, a tire mfgr that has a policy that seems to be geared toward trying to play customers knowing that most people don't have $1500 of deductible $ just laying around so they hope that the customer is forced to forget about the claim. I will have to dig into my policy to look for details on this and see if I can find anything. I learned that I will never run China made tires even if they have the most load range, weight rating etc, never take Discount tire's word for it "a great trailer tire" and look further into the insurance end of claims and how they are processed. It is reassuring though that they said they will be paying for the damages and am happy for that. Will see how it goes? BTW, towmaster tires 80psi cold, load range E on a 7500- 2 axle travel trailer(not overloaded and has been scaled). 10 miles into a trip at 77 deg. air temp outside they heat up to 86 deg. and BOOM!
