I use a French press and a stove top kettle for my morning joe when off grid.
For what it's worth my $15 4 cup Mr. Coffee pulls 660W measured with a Kill-O-Watt meter.
rodwa - From reading your other posts am I to understand you are wanting to boondock in the Austin area? Not many if any places to do that in Texas, even less in that area.
It seems to me your plan is to live in a RV, staying put in one place in that area to save money. If I have this correct find RV parks in that area that offer long term stays. Find the trailer you can LIVE in and pay someone to move it there. Looking at it this way you can get a larger FW that are more conducive to full time living.
Otherwise, if you do plan on going nomad head west young man. South in winter and north in the summer. Forget about running the AC on solar.
I do believe that once you put pencil to paper and tally up all the expenses involved you will discover you will save very little if any. Austin is not a cheap place to live anymore. You're about 15 years too late for that. It's a different weird now :(
