Iowa RV dealer blasts Camping World tactics

Watched the video. Local CW tried the same tactics on me. They didn't get even to the point of printing it out on paper.

CW was upfront with everything.. even this guy on the video knew what each added item was, so in my mind, everything was disclosed, and it's up to the consumer to accept or not. If CW policy is to try to recoup portions of prep costs and delivery charges, and they disclose it, and consumer accepts it.. then it's pretty much on the consumer.

Yes, Rogn! It goes to the capacity of buyer. Those that are unable to understand, negotiate, walk away...hmmmm.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's called capitalism. It's the buyers responsibility to do his homework before hand. If he doesn't like the price or the deal, walk away.

It was great to see someone lay out so many of those tactics and how the cost add up.

I am not normally a great defender of Camping world but.. in this case....

I have worked several different sales jobs. both retail and direct..

Different dealers do charge different prices, and sonemtimes a salesperson is authorized to "Deal" to some extend. So finding identical (Same make/model/options) RV's at widly different prices.. NOT that uncommon.

Now CW may have a corporate policy of KOA (Keep on adding) dealer charges that others do not (I do not know as I did not RV shop there).

BUT.... Many other places do the same.

ALSO, CW is a very large company.. You will likely find differences store to store within the company.. .Unlike "Local RV" which has just one or two stores.

YOU did not “...do it right.” Gee, I wonder why.

If you choose to purchase elsewhere do so. Why not stop picking on our host? PERSONAL issue? Too little to do? Find another hobby, BD.
