Is 70 the age to stop towing
I think maybe if you drive a motorhome at 70 you are safe, but pulling anything behind it is not safe.

- Has more to do with overall health than age. If your reactions are still good, mind sharp, and vision decent I would say continue on.
- I am 73 and I still pull my TT and will continue to do so..I have no problems driving, pulling and backing up or setting up..Why should I quit doing what we love ?

We leave for S. AZ mid November...at age 70.
Safe travels.- My Dad just turned 70, him and mom are hauling their Airstream from CA to D.C. and back, seeing a bunch on the way.. planning 2 months for it.
It'll be a sad day when he has to return from RV'ing... - Some need to stop before 70 and others are still fine we'll pass 70. Why put an age to it.
- If you feel a car behind a MH at 70 is no longer safe I think you need to stay on the porch and not drive the MH either. I hardly know my toad is back there as if the MH will fit, the toad will too. I go to the station with the cheapest fuel putting me in so interesting/tight places. Granted I can backup without unhooking but rarely do I have to do that. In 100+K miles there are no dings in my MH or the car.
*PS: I'm 71 and still do 750 mile days when needed. I hope to keep doing this for at least another 10 years. - No way my grandfather is still going strong at 84.
Just bought a new 24 or 26' fifth wheel. Takes the grand kids out all the time - If you feel you're incapable, then you should get off the road, regardless of age. But, if you are still fully capable, have all your wits about you, then as others have said...'why stop'.
Do what you do, until you can't do it anymore. Then do something else.
Mike - Not a chance.I am 75 wife 79 and we are planning cross country trip next summer pulling a 28' trailer.Age is just a number,health is the critical determiner.i am a better driver now then years ago,I have more respect and more patience for less experienced drivers,sorry to say this but the young ladies are by far the worst.cell phones are a very everyday danger.
