If you feel a car behind a MH at 70 is no longer safe I think you need to stay on the porch and not drive the MH either. I hardly know my toad is back there as if the MH will fit, the toad will too. I go to the station with the cheapest fuel putting me in so interesting/tight places. Granted I can backup without unhooking but rarely do I have to do that. In 100+K miles there are no dings in my MH or the car.
*PS: I'm 71 and still do 750 mile days when needed. I hope to keep doing this for at least another 10 years.
