- Blazing_ZippersExplorer III am almost 71, and run with many folks about the same age. Most of our buddies are fit, run, bike, swim, and work out----so why shouldn't we head out and have fun? We have our own weight set and gym here at the house to stay in shape.
Some people use the term "elderly" or words demeaning seniors when that doesn't hold up any longer. 70 is the new 50! Let's git out there. - GreyghostExplorerI think someone is just trying to stir the pot up a bit. He must be pretty bored!
- tpiExplorerI don't think you can make blanket statements. This capability is not directly correlated with age. I do think we all need to be honest with ourselves on our current capability. Sometimes it is not either/or. It is matter of degree. Still do stuff but at a slower pace, less distance, less challenging conditions, etc.
- nickdarrExplorerMy uncle was scary at 45 and totaled five vehicles, his fault, after age 60 before the state took his license at 69. He thought he was a great driver and fought the state to keep his license. He failed the driving test and the roads are probably safer for it. My wife's uncle is 83 and travels all over the west visiting family. He hasn't been in an accident in 40 years. I agree with the others, it is all based on health and a combination of actual ability and perceived ability/ confidence.
- HudsonerExplorerI am 73 years old, and pulling a car behind the motorhome (and hope so to do for many years to come). And I also ride a motorcycle and hope to do that for many more years! And I even load and unload the cycle alone onto and from the carrier in the back of the RV!
- Grit_dogNavigator III^Thats funny! I don't care who you are!
Btw, I'm sure most/many of you all, regardless of age can drive better than the majority of people on the road around here! - Us_out_WestExplorer

I met a 90 year old and his 86 year old wife still pulling a 5th wheel. He seemed sharp as a tack, flew fighters in WWII.
Ahhh....thought there was a reason.
Me in the early 80's - FarmerjonExplorerAt 71 I have to say I sure hope not.I don't drive a motor home but if we wanted to go to one I wouldn't hesitate and we would tow a toad with it.
I have gone to using a mounting block to get on my horse and I am slower at getting into the Jeep. But I certainly don't think I'm ready to stop towing things behind the TC or to stop towing any of the other 5 trailers we have. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIAge is NOT the issue.......be it MH, towing or driving a car
I've seen folks that couldn't/shouldn't be doing any of the above that are in their 30's, 40's etc
When passengers SCREAM or refuse to ride with you -----IT'S TIME! - owenssailorExplorerThere are Tractor trailer drivers still on the road well past 70. I know a couple of them. They do have to pass medicals to be able to keep their commercial licence.
