I think maybe if you drive a motorhome at 70 you are safe, but pulling anything behind it is not safe.
For someone who does not say how old he is, what he is towing and with what nor does he say why he is asking the question, he isn't supplying much information to get a good troll going.
So... - pennysmom09ExplorerEven if the OP is just trying to stir the pot, it's encouraging to hear all the encouraging stories from those in their 70's. We started 4 years ago in our 70's and will continue to do so, we are capable and having fun!

Has more to do with overall health than age. If your reactions are still good, mind sharp, and vision decent I would say continue on.
Absolutely.
You may know that your reaction time is slower, but knowing that means that you can do things to compensate for it. IMHO it's prudent to drive a little more slowly and most of all leave more space between you and the vehicle in front.
My significant other is almost 70, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive to Alaska with him. He hates city driving, and I do most of that. He is my "spotter" for lane changes.
AARP offers classes for older drivers. - 04fxstsExplorerI will be 70 in November and we now have a MH and I still tow my 700 lb Harley on a small trailer. If I have to give up the Harley then we will probably get a tow dolly for the DW's car. Jim.

Think again, and if you come up with the same conclusion, you should think one more time :) :)
Obviously it is all about the person doing the driving and their situation, it isn't about an age cut off for everyone out there.
Where did you even come up with this? Well I guess posts like this give up something to chat about, even if off the wall a bit :) :) - tvman44ExplorerI sure hope 70 is not the cutoff age for towing, I am 73 and still tow our 5er and have no plans to quit anytime soon. :)
- BigdogExplorerI'm 75 and still think that I'm capable of driving my 40' DP around with a toad on the back. Actually I've been looking at going back to a 32' TT and an Excursion. I just passed my annual DOT for my CDL, but decided that I'd had enough of driving a school bus full of screaming elementary kids around and retired this year. There are still two drivers at that district who are older than I am and are durn good drivers.
- stickdogExplorerI'm not there yet but not that far away. I have been thinking about the future. We are happy with our 5th wheel and just did a lot of interior remodeling but it is 12 years old. DW prefers 5th wheels over MH's, dosen't want a steering wheel in the livingroom so when we go to the shows we don't bother even looking at MH's. My thoughts are a new truck and even a slightly used high quality 5er we're talking some serious change.
