The first toy hauler I bought came with a full black water tank. I thought I learned my lesson. This one didn't have a gauge to monitor levels,i looked in it looked empty. I poured in 5 gallons of water to give it a rinse and it's full. What a crappy thing to do to somebody. Why, people, why?

Hopefully there is no brown mound.Same thing happened to us on a fifth wheel from years ago.Ours was so bad, we had to have the tanks professionally cleaned.Some people are just pigs. I like the people that put a rig up for sale, and post pics with their junk everywhere, unmade bed, dog cages, etc. Actually just looked at a coach for sale that had pics of a litter box, overflowing with cat poop. :?

Did you return any of the old owners personal property to him?

When we traded the HTT the dealer asked if I had emptied the tanks (I had.) He said it's more than just an occasional occurance to get a free load when he takes a trade.

Our current trailer came with full tanks no extra charge, the seller had parked it intending to do repairs then decided to sell. Good thing I stopped at the dump station to check it on the way home.

Um.... I have to differ with that statement.... actually he did give a s*** (actually much more than the OP bargained for!) :B

And as stated above, it passed the leak and smell test ... you know you've got a good tank there!

That's what I thought the subject line meant. I thought the post would be from someone who bought a rig with empty tank and then discovered it leaked!

As a seller, I would def empty and rinse tanks. Because ewww.
