Black Racers are intelligent and answer to commands whenetrained but it might seriously unnerve your guest and me. I man I can handle the but one crawlingfrom behind the couch and tickling my ear with his little forked tongue might be too much. They will gt any mouse in the house and perhaps keep any burglars out too. They can be aggressive with intruders.I'm not kidding about being intelligent. I don't remember who it was that kept one in the house as pet.
One thing for sure it would be an interesting proposition around the campfire. - grant135bExplorerThe only thing I know of that works for sure is prevention such as physical barriers (sealing up entry points), not leaving accessible food in the unit, and baited traps if you find evidence of their presence. Cayenne pepper sprinkled at their possible point(s) of entry can be downright unpleasant for them, too. I stay away from poison because I don't want them going off and dying somewhere I can't find and dispose of them. There are online videos of tests of various scented and sonic repellents and commonly recommended home remedies that show a low success rate. In some cases the mice made nests out of the supposed repellents such as dryer sheets or scented cotton balls.
As for simply equating correlation with causation, that would be like me saying I carry an anti-grizzly bear charm in my pocket and I've never been attacked by a grizzly, so the charm must work. - Dennis12ExplorerGet your wife a pellet gun and tell her not to come out till they are all gone.
- PawPaw_n_GramExplorerMy unpleasant experience is that nothing works all the time except strong posion.
The exterminator we used for our home explained it to me this way. Various repellants work well for a short time, but over a few weeks, rodents become desensitized to any repellant.
If you are moving most of the time - almost any repellant will work.
If the rig is stored at the same place after weekend trips, or for months at a time, you may have to change the repellant you use every couple months. - midnightsadieExplorer IIwe use fresh cab and pepper mint oil no mice.
- donn0128Explorer IIFirst is to identify entry points and close them up. SS window screen, steel wool, backed up by rhodent proof spray foam are a good start. Then buy a bunch of sticky traps
- Johno02ExplorerA big bullfrog living in your yard pond. They eat anything that they can get in their mouths. including many bugs, toads, small snakes, goldfish, each other, whatever. And usually are pretty quite. But they will scare the heck out of you when you step out at night, and they jump away fom you.
