The 20 amp breaker for the air conditioner get warm when the air is running. Is this normal?

no. a 20 amp breaker on a 12 amp load should not be hot. You have a loose connection or loose breaker on the buss bar.

I don't know. I really don't. But I'm thinkin the AC pulls more than 12 amps.

OP said warm. Very normal for a running air conditioner. Hot would be a problem.
  • The mechanism that makes breakers trip is heat. Typical for breakers to get warm under load. Hot would be a potential problem. New breaker is a few bucks. If it concerns you, put a new one in there. Otherwise, enjoy the cool A/C
  • Yes it is normal and common. To help the heat issue you could swap the wires with another 20a breaker further down the stack.

  • Yes probably a little warm. If you’re concerned you can open up the panel and make sure all of the screws are tight. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, see if you can find an electrical person to help you.
