Actually, the 4X2 Wrangler can not be flat towed, PERIOD!
Unless the driveshaft is removed.
Manual or automatic transmission makes no difference.
READ the Owners Manual, and FOLLOW the instructions.
EDIT: On second thought, FOLLOW the instructions EXCEPT for a couple of things;
When I was towing a Jeep, I would always hook the towbar to the motorhome FIRST, then go through the rest of the procedures except for setting the parking brake. When the towbar is connected to the motorhome, there is no need to set the parking brake, and if it is not set, you can't forget to release it (don't ask).
It is a great deal easier to bring the Jeep to the motorhome than to back the motorhome to the Jeep!
