By the time you finish loading up all the stuff you just know you're going to need in your travels, there won't be any room left for an adult or even a small child.

Now I did worry that I might have lost a cat to my Uncle's 5th wheel one time though. He had a basement door open and was trying to get more **** pushed inside and the last time I saw the cat she was trying to help him. But after he left - the cat came back the very next day ....

Mines so full I doubt I could get the kid in there ;)

I have seen some that I would like to lock in there. Problem is it is not sound proof! The trailers I have owned had to be manually locked from the outside.

I'm too big so all of me fitting inside where compartment door could be closed isn't an issue.


Most adults would be able to open slam latch from inside

Some adults.kids would probably not be able to figure out how to open

ALL should be able to kick.scream.holler to draw attention unless out in the bonnies.
Then the question becomes....who left the kids alone :H


While checking those compartment doors latches...might want to give a thought to those assist handles that fold across entry door ....can yours door be opened with it across door.

Not sweating it. I figured there had to be a way. Just never thought of it while we were looking at them.

Most now have slam latches not the old twist style. All you have to do is push up on the striker and you are clear.

I suppose someone could get stuck in there but the odds of people not hearing them are pretty slim. If it was a child then all bets are off but there are so many other things a kid could do to get themselves into trouble why sweat it

All mine require a twist on the outside to fasten the latches on both of our 5th wheels, so on mine it would only require you to push and they would open right up.

All of our kids are in their 20's. No grandkids yet, but I can see myself doing something that stupid.
