The bottom line is if park rules require raised hoses, either do it or don't stay there. The reason why it needs to be elevated is irrelevant...

Depending on how you camp, dumping every 4 days doesn't work for a lot of people. We've always put out our hoses for anything over two days. Mine has the SaniCon system so it's not a big issue. Many coaches have washers, dryers and dishwashers and use a fair amount of water.

Even though some find it silly, several states require that hoses are kept off of the ground. Sure, a well kept hose is not an issue, but that doesn't guarantee that everyone is conscientious.

I'm with the people that only bring their hose out when dumping. And, I only dump when the tanks are full or when I'm leaving the park. No reason to dump any other time. It's just a waste of time.

I also don't have a connection on the end that goes into the dump port. I just stick the hose in the port and set a piece of firewood on it to hold it temporarily in place. After dumping I put the hose away and burn the firewood.

Why make things more complicated then they need to be?

Like mentioned, I have 2- almost 8' pieces of u shaped gutter inside the sewer hose fence post sleeve, plenty of room for them. Use it to support the sewer hose. Keep meaning to cut one of them into a couple shorter pieces for those short runs.

We put ours out when we setup, and it is the last thing we take in when we leave. Right after DW cleans the bathroom. I dump my grey once a day. Right after all showers.

Have not run into to this we have camped at 10 different campgrounds on the Oregon coast over the past 2 winters for a total of 65 days so I had ample time to get caught if it was a law

Not just rocks make pin holes, cockle burrs, cactus, pine needles, etc. I use to lay my hose out on the ground and would buy a new one every few months due to pin holes. Now I use 2 sections, 9ft long of 4 inch, thin wall, pvc sewer pipe cut in half. I have kept the same hose for 5 years.

First lay down the half pipe and then the hose is bungeed in, the hose never touches the ground. The half pipes ride on the rear bumper with bungees holding them in place. Each end sticks out a few inches past the rear bumper and makes a good sight marker when backing :)
