Per Oregon law all sewer connections must be air tight and the hose must maintain a positive downward ... All county and state laws will be strictly enforced.
Does anyone have a link to the state regulations? I have to wonder if some RV parks have either misinterpreted the rules or have made up their own. Maybe they require hazmat gear when handling your sewer stuff?? (Being sarcastic.) I tried googling but couldn't find anything except for a mobile home park. What do they want you to do at a dump station? Have never heard of any such regs. when camping in Oregon.
I always just lay our hose on the ground and walk the contents along when dumping, and when ready to head home, just connect the ends of hose lengths together and keep them in the back of the truck. Setting up something to maintain a slope is too time consuming, esp. if just there for a 2-3 day weekend which is when I normally get the sewer stuff out only when ready to dump. If a park had an issue with a hose directly on the ground, then I would just dump and put the hose away after.
We've been at a few CG sites where it's been impossible to get a slope due to the height and location of the CG's sewer connection.
We were at one CG in Wa. where we used the dump station and their sewer system backed up and dumped most of the contents of our black tank all over the ground and onto the grass. Maintenance guy came along and said "it happens once in a while" like it was no big deal and just proceeded to clean it up right then and there with the hose. Maybe some CGs or their managers sewage effluent overreact and think everyone will die if even a tiny drop got onto the ground...?
