kidde recall

Received both of ours less than a month after I called. Impressive CS and exchange/ return process.

Me too.

I called about mine as I had 4 that matched the Model numbers on their website...the Model number and the Serial numbers have to match the recall list.

Takes both Model number and Serial number to determine those on recall.

You should call then. We recieved ours within 6 weeks after filing in-line.

I first contacted them in November and they said mine was recalled and gave me a tracking number. I have phoned at least six times and they don't seem able to get me any info as to when I would receive my replacement. Then I got a letter from Keystone and called, went thought all the details again, got another tracing number and once again have not gotten anything. This was about three weeks ago. When I call all I get is wait a few more weeks and then call us again. Getting really fed up with their lack of action! Will be leaving for home in a month so am hoping that I get something soon.

Our replacement arrived 4 weeks after we ordered. No problems.

I have 5. The website said 2 were not affected even though they were listed to be affected. I called and they were actually on the list and are to be replaced. 3 received, 2 pending. A bit confusing I agree. Forest River sent a recall notice but Kidde had already replaced that one. Much nicer and larger than the original.

Yeah, this is one real confusing recall.

Not ALL plastic handled extinguishers are recalled.

The ones that are have the pull pin that is VERTICAL (up and down) with a STRAIGHT PLASTIC HANDLE.

Not affected are the ones with the pull pin HORIZONTAL with CURVED PLASTIC HANDLES.

BUT, don't despair, there is a YouTube video you can watch that explains in detail what is recalled and what isn't..

A: Please contact us at (855) 271-0773 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST Monday-Friday
(excluding holidays), or between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the weekend to determine whether your extinguishers are affected."

I contacted Kidde in November. I am still waiting.

Give them a call and they can explain everything. Very helpful for me. I had two and only needed one replaced. Very easy.
