We had a Dexter Nev-R-Lube bearing fail on us a couple of years ago an hour south of Atlanta on I-75 at 5 PM,I took a week and $3000 to repair it. Dexter claims that those bearings are good for 100.000 miles or 5 years, our fiver didn't have over 20.000 miles on it, so much for their idea on how long their bearings should last, I replaced them all that year and will be replacing them again in two more years. Were leaving tomorrow for Florida and before every long trip while checking my air pressure I give the wheels a good yank side to side to check for any play, it's that simple but I mostly rely on my Tireminder system
clickit not only monitors air pressure but the temperature as well so if a bearing is over-heating the sensor will catch it and save the rest, money very well spent!
