Laundry strategy

What is the best strategy for doing laundry at rv parks? Do you go early or wait until people have left for the day? I am an early riser and would like to get it done early but maybe other folks need to do it then so they can leave for the day.

Thanks

Bob
  • I shoot for just after 10AM (or whatever checkout time is). Fewer folks in the park than at any other time. Part of the overall strategy is taking jeans and colored pocket tees, and white underwear and socks. No ironing. One load of each, and if my timing is right, two loads of each in the dryers, because they take longer. Probably not that easy for the ladies. :)
  • DW has the best strategy for getting the laundry done - she sends me to the laundry and I can come home when it's done.

Our experience has been that Sunday evenings are the best time to do laundry at a campground. The laundry areas are generally empty and we can use several machines both to wash & dry without feeling that we are hogging all the machines. :C
  • best time is whenever you can get a machine and dryer.

I do it morning, noon or night also. My laundry is on MY FUN schedule. When I get a chance I do a load. Only usually one load per trip over 5 days. I bring enough clothes to make it thru and do laundry when I get home. easier.
  • Our strategy is simple, take clothes from hamper, load into washer(located in bath area), run load then dry. Not trying to be a wise A--, but our clothes are in same category as our bed, we know who slept in it last. 17 years FT

  • Do it when it suits you. I wouldn't think many people would wait to do their laundry on the day they are leaving, what with all the variables in the campground laundry process. Most people who are going home would prefer to do their laundry at home.
  • Our Southwind is equipped with a washer/dryer combo. That takes care of most of our needs.
However, when we need something larger I use the equipment at the RV Park. I just treat it as a first come/first served arrangement.
If you don't use it when it's available, someone else will.
If people are in a hurry to leave, they will do their laundry at home.
  • I'd do the laundry when I was ready to do the laundry, be it morning, noon, or night.

If folks want to get out of the park early, I doubt they are concerned about doing laundry.

I know if I wanted to get out of the park early, I would not be dealing with laundry. I'd do the laundry the night before.
