Cost to go camping has been brought up a couple of times. But, the cost is dependent on where you want to go and what you consider "Camping".
Many people want to go to a park with full hook up's, there air conditioner running all day, Wi-Fi connection, A pool at the park, and lots of other things. Then they buy a expensive RV with satellite TV and all the amenities. It can be expensive to do it this way and if you can afford that good for you! But, just because some people can afford it doesn't mean it's the only way to go.
I've found that my local, public, county run parks near me have little; or in some cases; none of those fancy amenities but, the rates can be quite low. There is a small park a few miles from me that has 30 amp electric only. For 7 dollars a night. The park I most often frequent has electric, a dump station, and a few water hydrants (spigots). For 17 dollars a night. I'm using my 20 year old, but still acceptable TT ($3500) pulled by my used 10 year old half ton pickup that is my daily driver. I figure this set up will last about 5-7 years. I find this to be cheap ;and healthy; entertainment. And, I can still drive to the closest town for events that are going on in them on a regular basis.
So camping doesn't have to be expensive unless you want it to be.
