Oooh, I like your idea SoundGuy. I may have to steal it. Thanks.
Thanks ... this system has worked well for me. :B
Over this past winter, in an effort to reduce the overall weight of the base, I built another version using a tough 1/8" thick rubber pad in place of the 3/4" plywood base and although that did lighten it quite a bit I found that it would flex quite a bit more than I liked when pulling the trailer up on to it. It also became apparent that a base this thin would also not likely prevent an individual Lynx from cracking under some circumstances whereas the wood base entirely does so I returned to my proven Lynx / Wood system. Several years ago I wrote to the manufacturer Tri-Lynx and suggested they offer their Lynx leveling blocks already molded to a base in sets of 5, 6, 7, etc that would in fact work just as my DIY version does but be lighter in weight. I never received any reply and nothing appeared on the market so I can only assume the company wasn't as impressed with the idea as I was. Regardless, I've been using my own DIY version for years now and haven't run into any drawbacks at all, other than it would be nice if I could make the base a bit lighter while retaining it's current durability.
