Lippert Never Fail Bushings Is Lippert Using Them At Factory

I just picked up a new smaller 2016 Forest River Salem TT. I picked it up as a second trailer because my 36 foot Grand Junction 5ver won't fit in many of our old favorite campsites.

The TT has Lippert suspension. My question is, does Lippert use their newer Never Fail Bushings on all their OEM spring shackle systems now from the factory? Or do they still use the old "gone in 3000 mile" junk. There are no zerk fittings so I know its not a wet system. I went into the Lippert website and sent that question to Lippert customer service but have not received an answer yet.

Have you asked the dealer , or called the manufacturer with your VIN # and OR your frame serial # ? Either should be able to tell you

Dealer does not know. I just sent second email to Lippert, this one to OEM Sales instead of Customer Service. -- I would not think it would be a trailer specific issue. Lippert either installs them on their production line on all spring shackle units or it does not.

If they don't it could only be to give you junk so in a few thousand miles you need to buy there upgraded bushings for 35 bucks. That would sound terrible from a customer point of view.----This is more important to me now because I am going to take this trailer next Spring on a 12,000 mile Alaska dream trip.

  • I would think someone here would know if Lippert uses their own improved product "never fail bushings" as a factory installed item. I don't want to take my unit apart if it already has them from the factory.
  • Ah, just needed a smiley at the end. I kind of wondered though.

No, the OP is referring to the replacement bushings that go in the spring ends, rather than a regular bronze/brass bushing.

Ya, that was supposed to be a bit of a joke. Guess not.

As of 2015, it's the white ones that wear out...

    Don't quite understand. Please explain.
