Load Range D or E

I have a 2009 K-Z 5er GVW is 10,500 tire size ST 225/75R15 D.I unwinterized it and noticed that the tires are ozone cracked all 4. I knew last year I might need them soon but 1 winter got to all of them. My Friend just bought tires on E-Bay we have the exact same camper except I have Aluminum Rims and he has Steel. He upgraded to load range E same size tire. Will the aluminum rims take that upgrade?
Thanks in advance

  • Is the spare the same wheel? If so take it down to the tire store to demount the tire and check the rating on the wheel.
  • I wanted to upgrade from D to E on our 10K GVWR rig, but found (rear of rim) the stock wheels could only support max 70psi. No worries as the D load-rated Maxxis ST tires I purchased from DiscountTireDirect.com have done a superb job and easily carry our loaded rig's weight. I keep them aired to max 65psi and they are still holding up well going on their 4th camping season.
  • The rims will handle the tires, but you have to see if it will handle the higher pressure. They may be stamped on the inside with the max weight and presures.
