Logs,Blogs and Journals

I have seen many of these in the signatures of the people here.
Some are site specific, such as Truck Campers, Toy Haulers, Fulltimers, or many of the other Forums.

Some are insightful and helpful others funny or light hearted. Still others give great advice on where to go and what to do and others invite you into their Family or give out Great Recipes and cooking hints They all have something to say.

I have viewed many and some I go back to and some I don't.

Here is my question, or questions.

Do many of you do this, are there some types that you like more than others or have you Bookmarked them ?

What are your favorite ones and would you share them with the rest of us?

I am always looking for something new and adventurous. Aren't we all that Camp, RV, Boondock, Fulltime and hit the Open Road?
So lets hear from you all, what are your favorites.( Other than your own of course :B )

  • I read RV Sue and her Canine Crew and Rob and Me In Our Little RV. I find them both very entertaining.
  • I started a blog a few years ago so the family would know where we are and what we are doing, (but I don't think any of them ever follow it) LOL, Since then I have continued when we go on trips and I find them fun to revisit and remember. I followed Tioga George for years and now I enjoy three or 4 others so I can live vicariously through them while not traveling.
  • We started blogging our travels for these reasons:

    1. As I plan our stops I'm sometimes rather frustrated by the lack of information about campgrounds. One thing I really like is candid photos of the campsites and facilities. Most of the time I find staged "glamor shots" or photos taken with family ("our dog at Yellowstone") types of photos. I decided that I'd do the kind of reviews I'd like to see.

    2. It is a nice way to let interested friends know what we're up to.

    3. After spending months researching fulltime budget concerns I came to appreciate those who had opened the door bit to their finances. I'm trying to return the favor or at least pass some of my information on for others who are now doing their own research.

Mostly, though, it's just for our own fun - a way to record our adventures. Our blog gets 100-200 visits a day and once in awhile we'll see over 500.
  • I think blogs etc are useful to allow friends and family to follow what is going on in your world. Otherwise, to much "inconsequential" info and non info for a non-acquaintance to try to follow. JMHO!
  • I very rarely read someone's blog. I think I have read just one in the past year that some others thought was very good. I had to see for myself. It was kind of entertaining (I think it was meant to be) but it is not something I would keep going back to unless I knew the writer personally. I keep up with this forum and the Open Range forum but that's about it.
  • We follow the blogs of people we have personally met. Sometimes when there is a link in someone's post to their blog I will take a look. Sometimes there is useful information that I check out and maybe bookmark the link or site for the information I found helpful.
