LONG POSTs

Post are post! If the writer gets lost and goes on and on, I am outa here. If he is detailing a situation and we can learn from it. I will hang in and read the entire post. So the problem lies with the reader not the poster. Your choice.

I seldom read long posts, not because of the post but because I have a really short attention span. :)

I don't mind long posts at all what I mind are posts that are long and the writer never ever give a line break or anything to keep the text from just going on and on. it also bugs me when people either use all small letters with no capitalization though i know a lot of that is sue to people posting from smart phones and those darn on screen keyboards are a real pain to deal with but i like all small letters over ALL CAPS I JUST CANNOT STAND WHAEN PEOPLE SHOUT AT ME. I also doslike missspellings though I can be guilty of that as well. but long posts, no problem.

Your post and most of those on this thread use point format.

Each point with white space inbetween is easier to read and digest.

Pics with one line captions add to a post, IMHO.

But I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish more would give nice concise words to say what the topics, ie. yours, "Long Posts". & the caps work too.

I don't read those with vague topics: 'Look at This'

Kind of tradition....like putting (long-pics included) in the subject.

Obviously being an RV forum many posters are on the road in a CG somewhere, and using whatever Internet access they have to read emails and stay connected. Some use 3G or even 2G cellular, maybe even dial-up from the CG office. Think back when the forum started or even just a few years ago, not many CGs had wifi and mobile Internet was not very fast.

Nothing worse than being on a slow connection and opening a thread that is 10 pages long and loaded with pictures....then having to wait (and pay) for it to load.

This becomes less of any issue every day as 4G gets built out and wifi becomes more ubiquitous....so the "sorry, long post" is somewhat of an anachronism...

However, I have noticed that many posters here don't take the time to read a long post...over and over I see someone post with a problem, only to have multiple respond suggesting that the OP try something that they already said they tried.

I seldom read big long winded posts. Particularly annoying are the ones about a posters personal experiences that aren't even about the subject at hand.

Keep it short, concise, and to the point. Cut the blabber.

Post long winded grandiose posts if you like, I probably won't read them.

I don't mind reading long posts as long as the OP uses a little puncuation and carrage returns.

A lot of people tend to gloss over long posts and miss the point. I generally find them tedious especially if it is one long paragraph without capitals and proper punctuation.
