Looking for a tiny, fanless space heater

Low wattage and lightweight. Fan free because of allergies.

I currently have a 300 watt from home depot, fits in my pocket. But it is made with a bare exposed element on the top, so is very dangerous. I set it in a breadpan and cover it with a grill, and check it obsessively, but still...

I'm thinking there must be something better for me out there.

  • Check out the radiant heaters on Ebay.
I have this one. Works great. Light weight. 2 settings..400 watt and 800 watt.

  • We use a Delonghi mica panel heater. Much lighter than the oil filled ones. It doesn't get too hot so it's pretty safe. Tiny, it is not.

Hmm... the flat panel heaters are an interesting idea, but not for this application. !5lbs! I'll keep them in mind for a future project, though. I like that they come in a range of low wattages.

I love the oil filled heaters, but in my van the weight is out of the question! I'm not familiar with the flat panel ones, will look at them.

I need something that weighs less than pound, like my current scary heater.
  • It's not tiny but, how about a flat panel heater? You can mount it on a wall and it's out of the way.
I believe they are 170 watts up to 400 watts.
