I have a 27 foot Jay Flight 23RB. It's GVWR is 6500#. Most trailers under 25' would not weight 8k GVWR.
I pull my trailer with a F150 with the HD Payload Package. It has a payload capacity of 2286#. It does extremely well with my trailer. I have no problems pulling it.
As with all 1/2 tons, payload capacity is one of, if not the most important number to be concerned with.
If I were getting a 3/4 ton, I'd look for a gasser. The diesel exacts a huge penalty WRT payload capacity. If I wanted a diesel, I'd go straight to 1 ton models.
