OK been married 49 year this August. Same woman.
Started RVing in 67.
We both have gone down hill some.
Oh we are both X Yankees with Southern blood.
Pulling into an RV PK. Sitting outside sipping a brew and letting the wife go on her own Is fine with me. Tried that one time. IL ST PK Ranger did not like my brew. Cost me $70.00 fine. Think his name was Barney Fife.
Right now getting work done around the house so we can hit the road. But would still love to sell the MH. Upside down deal.
Ya'll enjoy the road this year.
See, but that's part of what I said.
Wrong parks!!!
Too big and expensive of a RV. Life is better when you keep things slower and more simple.
How about,,, Sell the RV you have and get something smaller that both you and the wife can enjoy??? It might, maybe, make you both feel younger again and be like starting over without all the "baggage". And by baggage I mean both in the form of what you haul,,, and what you are hauling around in your head.
Too many money/stress worries and not enough time to enjoy solitude in a nice peaceful place with your wife, good food, and a 6 pack. - Executive45Explorer IIITo us, it's all in sharing EACH OTHER, whether in the RV, in a condo at the beach or lounging in Cabo...the important thing is being together. While we've only been together 21 years, I can't imagine wanting to go somewhere without my wife. Sure she goes shopping at times alone as do I, but sharing lifes' goods and bads is what it's all about...
Congrats on the 49 yrs together...I hope the fire still flickers......Dennis - rhagfoExplorer III

I am with you Tom, after being off the road for a year. That is the reason we are buying a lot in AZ and parking our RV there. We have found that cost wise, it is no longer cost effective to use the RV for short trips. The only advantage is having your own bed.
You also have a Kitchen, and can go where you want - bigwheelsturninExploreri hope..my wife and me of 24 yrs can make it as long as y'all..we're selling house this year..to go fulltime..49yrs..congrats ..hats off to you sir..please never leave the forum..advice is appreciated from you to someone starting out.. ;-)

This reply and one of your early posts hits the nail on the head.
As they say: "It's the economy (money). Stupid"
A great percentage of retirees 0ver the last 10 to 15 years have been burned by the Great Recession. If they haven't got everything paid for by this point, it's hard to have confidence in the future with a brunch of bickering politicians who haven't learned how to work together yet.
Even having gotten through this financially in great shape for us and our kids, we still hear many of our friends we have camped with (over 40 years) talking about the need to baby-sit grand-children during the work-week and help them out financially because of the current situation.
This and a very bad year for "cabin Fever" can be a downer for many. - sowegoExplorerRvten is having fun with poetry!

give someone else the keys
or get in and drive all over the country! - Dog_TrainerExplorerLast year we had a banner year traveling. 6,000 miles in 6 weeks our long trip.we have had several years in the recent past where we were on the road seeing 55,000 miles in the the last 6 years. I kinda feel like the OP this year as some of the zing has left. I am looking forward to another season but plan to lay back this year. Have spent about $4,000.00 this winter getting the coach worked on and maintenance that is necessary. Rear brakes, bearing races etc.. then a front end steering issue along with a Break cylinder leak. Nothing too big just needed to be done and I am getting a little older to do the back axle work. We have been in many mountain ranges and that driving has worn on me a little with last years trip to ND,MT, Wa, Or, CA. Utah and all the mountains along the way. So I know the feeling and plan to enjoy our State more and spend down time for a couple of weeks within 500 miles of home. My old girl still runs like a dream and I have no future intention of trading her especially with the 11+ mpg with the little cummins. But I can see where the OP is coming from I think we all need to change the stride from time to time.

First snowbird winter in a Condo and it felt right.
Two months in Panama City Beach, all the comforts.
If I had a bucket list the view from the balcony would have been near the top.
