LP Tank check.

So I just got an email from PPL motorhome. It had a listing for a new device called LP tank Check. It is for a sonar device that attaches to the bottom of your tanks with magnets and then via bluetooth sends a level signal either to the monitor you can buy OR straight to your smartphone!!

Does anyone have any feedback about these?

LP TANK CHECK

My tanks are in a closed area under the nose of my 5er so I have been known to run out of gas at the worst possible time. This, if it works would be a perfect solution where I can keep an eye on them and not have to open that door unless I needed to

Feedback??

meaning that we have ran a lot more gas than we thought and with the auto changeover valve working it switched and we didn't catch it and ran through 2 tanks. It is common practice for all of the people that I camp with to keep one valve closed and then switch when it is out so you KNOW when it is empty.

I just thought this was a super cool gadget that no one else had posted on yet so I thought I would share. I am probably going to order up a pair of them as soon as I get approval from the purchasing director (DW) and see just how well they work. If they work well I will post that up. If not I will post that too

Thanks for posting this, very cool gadget, I see they also sell through Amazon :B

I keep one tank off also, and my switchover valve can not be viewed without removing the tank cover which is a real pain.

Please do let us know what you think of it, so far there are only two reviews on Amazon.

  • A lot of us that camp in the winter have found that those auto crossover valves work too well.

    Whats that mean?

I for one dont what to wake up in the middle of night freezing if the tank switches over and I had the other off...

    Waste of money IMO...

With the auto crossover just check the tanks when your camping.. As soon as I see the tanks switched I get the empty one filled...

I have never run out of propane..

It you dont have auto cross over then I would spend money on that rather then those tank monitors...

A lot of us that camp in the winter have found that those auto crossover valves work too well. You will have both tanks run out and then you are in trouble. I keep my second tank off until the first drops off.

I just thought this was a cool gadget and I love automation
