Lubricating 4-Way Connectors?

When it is cold it is very hard to plug in my 4-way connector. What can I lubricate this with? I used to use WD-40 on everything, but lately I have been reading not to do this anymore.

I guess I am doing something wrong then haha... I have been using WD40 for years on both the 4-way and 7-way connectors. Never had a problem...

The WD40 can fits perfect in my door side pocket and has the handy flip-out stream nozzle... A little squirt here and a little squirt there...

We are all creatures of habit...
