Brand recommendations? Like asking whether to buy a Ford or a Chevy?
Lol
Agreed, especially on used. Used coaches are more more about condition of the individual coach over any brand consideration. To the OP, Figure out what floorplan works for you, then find the best cared for coach with that floorplan in your budget.
More sound advice! Would you have limitations on mileage say for an older Prevost/Newell vs other newer brands/models?
Not sure what you mean by mid-range and you didn't mention a budget. Is it $300k, $500k, $1M? A true luxury coach would be a Prevost or Newell but Foretravel has gotten into some more production based coaches. A new Prevost or Newell will set you back $2-3M. Tiffin, Entegra and Newmar used to be considered luxury at a production level but have since been sold to Thor and Winnebago respectively. As a result I have heard a lot more complaints about quality. The basic theme is, it does not matter how much money you spend on a production coach, they all come off the same line as their lowest level offerings. While the chassis and some of the components, materials and trimmings might be nicer, it's the same build quality, the same sealants, same warranty etc. You might do better buying a used Prevost or Newell. You can get a brand new Foretravel Realm, which is a semi production high end coach for under $1M. I would guess your mid range luxury coaches would be Newmar Ventana, Tiffin Phaeton or Allegro, Entegra, Winnie Forza etc. Just watch your manufacturers. Like I said, Entegra and Tiffin are now owned by Thor. And if you don't know about Thor you may want to poke around. Newmar is a Winnebago product and while arguably better than Thor, I've heard a lot of complaints lately. In the Super C category I'd go with Dynamax.
That is great information....thanks so much! I will definitely be buying used around $300k.
