Isn't there a strick torque spec for this?
My understanding is that there is not a "strict torque spec" but to give just a slight turn (maybe 1/8 turn) to ensure a snug fit. And with the newer A/C gaskets with the plastic tabs built into the gasket, tight enough is when plastic tab starts to bunch up or move.
When the gasket has collapsed enough where there is not a lot left it, replace it.
Last one I replaced was 8 years old.
I've seen on here people give actual torque numbers, but haven't seen any from manufactures, so I don't know where those numbers come from.
