One thing you will learn about towing RVs is, ignorance is bliss.
I guarantee you that 99 percent of those people towing hammer down on the 495 passing you like you were standing still had no idea that their trailer tires were limited to 65MPH. NO CLUE! Even if you pointed it out to them where it's marked on their tire most wouldn't believe it anyway.
Your WD hitch wasn't hurting anything. It does not change the tongue weight, just uses leverage to transfer it off the rear axle of the truck. Sway control is not sway elimination, but it probably saved your life by keeping things down to a dull roar.
Hindsight being 20/20 it was silly to throw away a brand new set of tires before trying other more common solutions to the sway problem... There is no way an LT-E rated truck tire was the cause of your sway.
