I may be one of those over-protective parents...My kids are always within eye-view, and if they go to any public restroom, my wife goes with the girls, and I go with the boys...Always....Our oldest is 10.
So glad that you are doing the right thing by going with your children to the toilet.
So many parents just let their children go almost totally unsupervised within a campground. This should not be! Bad things can and do happen in all campgrounds.
My family and I have been camping in public and private campgrounds for more than 45 years, and I have seen unsupervised children PLAYING in the toilet buildings at almost ALL these campgrounds. The only exception is a park where the toilet buildings required an access code to enter and the children were too young to work the lock. WHY do children want to play in the toilets??
Parents should always keep close contact with their children and KNOW where they are, AND when going into a public toilet room directly supervise them because a toilet is a place where bad things can happen. SAFETY FIRST!!!
