Mattress Question
We want to purchase a new queen size mattress for our TT. Basic platform bed set up. Is there any reason we shouldn't buy a regular mattress like we have in our house? We do t like the memory foam that seems so popular... Thanks!

Jim- WeBe!!! Thank you!!! I knew everyone else was lying just so they could laugh at me behind my back!!! Now that I know the truth I'm gonna run right out and buy the exact same RV mattress that I already have! Whew! Dodged a bullet on this one!
- Denver mattress is owned by Lippert now. We had the room so I extended the platform and we got a std queen size

- Thank you everyone! We are going to buy the same one as home so it will be like sleeping in our own bed! LOL the five extra inches have no significant effect on our clearance.
- The Foam Factory Mattress by mail can custom make what ever you need in what ever firmness. We have a 5" firm full queen in our teardrop. When mailed it is compressed and we did release it inside the tear!Good price.
- A true queen is 60x80. If that is the size of the mattress you currently have, there is no reason why you can't buy a normal mattress (unless weight is an issue). The queen mattress in our 5th wheel is a true queen and we have no storage underneath so we could swap easily.
- Denver Mattress Company is advertising in Motorhome magazine now. I understand they have a good product.
- When we ordered our 5th wheel, we eliminated the RV mattress and bought our own. We have a residential sized queen and shopped around for one that suited us. Keep in mind the weight of the mattress if you have under bed storage. We had to move the support arms so the lift would stay open.
- The only issue we had with changing our queen RV mattress to a residential mattress was the weight. We have storage under our bed frame which was easy to access with the cheapo RV mattress. Once we put the standard mattress in, it was much harder to access the storage area. But I'll sacrifice the easy access for the increased comfort.
