X2 - We tried toppers and found the best thing to do was replace the whole mattress with an Amazon Memory foam mattress and trim it to fit. It sleeps so much better.

X2, we did the same, then we trimmed it with an electric knife to the same size as the mattress. It works well.

If you're dealing with a bed that's just way too firm then just about any topper can fix it. Even the cheap ones from Walmart. You don't need super thick ones either. Just 1 inch could be enough to give you a good night's sleep. There's also the option of replacing the whole mattress with a multi layered foam mattress. We ended up finding that a foam mattress was more comfortable than the spring / topper combo.

We went through several memory foam toppers at home and none lasted very long, including one from Costco. Just wouldn't buy another topper for home or RV-ing.

Six years ago we bought an 8" foam mattress with 2" memory foam layer for a previous TT and moved it into our current TT 4 years ago. It is VERY comfortable and it still looks and feels like new. We both sleep better on it than the fancy gel foam mattress we ended up getting for home. Bought it at a mattress shop while on a camping trip and shortened it on the picnic table with a bread knife.

We bought a 4" blue foam topper from CW. it looks like an egg carton on one side. It works well for us.

X3 fir the Costco topper. It works really well.

With a previous trailer I also used the gel foam topper from Costco. Comfort improve drastically however it slept a little hot for our tastes. It was heavy and the bed lift struts weren't up to the job anymore. I fabricated a prop which wasn't really a big deal to use.

I'm in Canada and bought a 3" gel memory foam topper from our local Costco that turned our rock hard stock mattress into pillow soft luxury. This same Novaform Gel Topper is also sold in US Costco stores. Pics are in my gallery.
