Maxxis Tires

Can anyone tell me where the best place to buy Maxxis tires in the NY area is? I have been on the phone for a while, as I would like to purchase at a local store vs online, but due to availability and/or price, it seems to make the most sense to buy online. I am going up a load range, therefore want to replace the rims as well, and would like to find a company that would send them mounted and balanced. I know that local tire shops do not appreciate you going in with you own tires, but none of the shops around here can get Maxxis. My current tires are 3 years old, but am taking a trip to SC in a couple of weeks and want some peace of mind; heard too many horror stories of blowouts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I did have 15" Load range D, and I went up to a load range E. Didn't want to chance going to a 16" LT due to possible clearance issues.

    If you had the room/clearance you could have upgraded to 15" wheels and tires and hade more weight carrying capacity, less of a chance for overloading the tires.

    Nice, that is what I wanted to hear! I ordered Maxxis and aluminum rims from Discount tire and just mounted them today. I'm reall happy with the look of the aluminum vs the stock white rims, now just hope the Maxxis hold up as good as everyone claims.

    Tomorrow I will dewinterize and hopefully find no surprises.

    I called a Goodyear dealer in town and they ordered a set of Maxxis for my trailer at a price cheaper than their Goodyear Marathons.

    The new set replaced my old set of Maxxis, which lasted 8 years without problems until the last trip to the Keys, when they began to go show signs of distress. I waited too long to replace them, but they got me home without a flat or blowout.

    I had two sets of Maxxis tires on my last rig. I loved them but I had to special order them and they were never in stock. I had a blow out in San Diego on a sat and Discount Tire had none in stock. I had to buy an off brand as a spare for the trip home. After that I went with Carlisle's on present RV and have not had any issues with them.

    Maxxis UE168N bravo has that size in a commercial light truck tire.

    Just looked at the Maxxis website. They do not make any 14" LT's in that model.
