Tell them to sit and spin. You owe them nothing and a company that would do that isn't worth doing business with again and I'd let everyone know who it was as well.
We had a Toyota dealership do that to us on a truck purchased. They called me back about a week later demanding 5k and had my trade ready to give back and told me I couldn't leave with the truck unless I paid them. I simply asked them if they were attempting to breach their contract with me? After him saying repeatedly I couldn't leave with the truck I asked him if he was attempting to detain me against my will or attempt to steal a vehicle I'd paid for?
He got mad, stammered and told me to get the F out of there. The entire show room could hear him screaming and as I walked out the sales people were smiling and trying not to laugh.
The dealership has changed hands since then. Not surprising. I won't disparage the new owner and not surprised the old one is no longer there.
