Not a legal thought, but just an observation. We have all had to shell out $ for repairs to a vehicle before and decided to trade or sell it before something else went wrong. 9k to repair wiring would seem to encompass the entire system, so for rats to have chewed thru it and caused 12k worth of damage doesn't make sense. Were you aware of any issues you didn't disclose?
Did you have any suspicions of more issues to come? It really doesn't matter either way; they did their walk thru and the paperwork is signed, and time is on your side vs the dealership.
