Mesa brand tires

Does anyone have any experience with "Mesa" brand tires? I was in need of two tires for my coach yesterday after a utility trailer dumped part of its load of scrap in front of us on I-95 near Brunswick, GA taking out two of my tires. One steer tire still held air, but had a chunk of tread missing, and an outside dual exploded, damaging the waste bin and destroying a piece of plastic trim. While I was putting the spare on the rear instead of waiting for our ERS, a tow truck driver stopped to see if I needed any help. I asked him if he knew where I might find two tires on Sunday, and he made a call to the Tire Kingdom store in Brunswick. We were fortunate that they had the tires we needed in stock, could mount them as soon as we got there, and the exit was only a mile away. The tires they installed are "Mesa" brand, with a good date code of 4313. I found they are made by Cooper in the USA, but I know nothing about them. Obviously, we didn't have any choice, and were glad to get them. The price was comparable with what I could get online including shipping, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had good or bad experiences with this brand.

  • The Mesa branded tires I have were made in Cooper's Findlay, Ohio plant according to the "UP" DOT manufacturers code. They also have "Made in USA" molded on the sidewalls.
  • I believe Sumitomo tires are generally considered to be pretty good. I had a passenger set on my car a few years ago and was very satisfied. I think anytime I've seen them referenced here on the forum it has been a positive report.
