This has happened twice to me. The first time happened almost 15 years ago. My Sister and her husband who were both pro team ropers were staying at our house for a few weeks while they hit the west coast rodeos. She tied her horse up to the side of their living quarters horse trailer and proceeded to set up. After plugging in the horse FLIPPED OUT!!!!!. She calmed it down retied it and a couple of minutes later it did it again! Found the extension cord we plugged into the trailer had a bad ground and was grounding through the side of the trailer through the horses nose!! Poor Baby!! It was only a 50K dollar roping horse after all
Second time we were at my uncles ranch. After a day or 2 our dogs refused to jump in our trailer. Thought they were just being lazy so I picked them up and tossed them in (both boxers). Later that day my wife came up to me and said she got shocked when she was standing in the wet grass and cleaning the window to the front door. She had one foot on the metal step and one on the ground in wet socks and SMACK!!
To fix the horse trailer we just traded cords and plugged into a different place in the house. The trailer was harder, we had to drive a piece of rebar into the ground a ran a chunk of wire from the bumper to the rebar and no more shock
