Michigan total length laws

Hey All,

I'm new here, and new to RV's. I'm looking at purchasing a bumper pull camper to use to stay at the property we just purchased up north until I get the cabin built. What came up that I am inquiring about...as of recently, there will be a memorial service up in that area with out of state visitors. Instead of everyone having to pay for lodging, which there isn't much in a very convenient distance from where the service will be held...I was considering renting a motor home, and pull the camper trailer that we will be purchasing shortly with that instead of one person driving the motor home and me pulling the trailer with my truck. I was wondering if anyone knew of a source to find out how long of a motor home is legal in MI to pull a large trailer, and how long is legal for the trailer, so I know about what size of trailer to look at in the coming weeks.

I am looking for legalities only, I am more than capable of handling the vehicle combination, as I have a CDL-A and have driven several different combos from four wheeler with a utility trailer behind to dump trucks with dozers or excavators behind, drove wrecker including big rig wrecker in college, etc. All advice is welcome, just stating I'm not in much need of info pertaining to difficulties and possible complications, I just want to make sure I am not breaking too many laws and get held up on the side of the road by DOT.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You in Advance,

Eric
