Statistics can always be presented to show whatever one desires. Notice the paramiters on which they are measured are very rarly disclosed such as accidents per 1000 miles driven. Thus many of the elderly vs. young driver comments leave me wondering. :R
I am an elderly driver having drivien for nearly 56 years without a chargable accident and the last minor citation was back in '74. I am also aware my vision is not what it was some years back and my reflexes are not what they were at twenty! However, I think many of us elderly drivers who are piloting very expensive motorhomes are aware of these conditions and drive accordingly. That means being extra cautious, driving very defensivly, and paying strict attention to driving vs. texting, eating, and all the other things I see drivers doing these days.
Thus, I would suggest being rather careful with generalizations unless very specific statistics can be presented.
