  • If you're feeling brave, you can "buy" grandfathered Verizon data plans on Craigs / fleabay

A bit pricey, but cheaper than paying overage fees if you are a heavy user.
  • X2 on Millenicom, and you can add on all the 20GB data blocks you need at just $90 each. Stream all you want, just bring the big wallet.
  • Wouldnt streaming Netflix or whatever cost you a fortune on a mobile device?

I am in Canada, am on cellular. We get 20 gig per month for $90.....no Youtube, Netfix or anything like that and we use that 20 gig+ every month. Its nice because we can take it with us wherever we go. Drove right across Canada a couple of years ago, wife had internet in the van all the way. The odd spot wouldnt get signal.
  • Note FWIW, that many (but not all) Netflix movies can now be streamed in HD ... if you set your Neflix account playbabk quality to allow HD streaming. This requires you to have an Internet speed coming into your device (download speed) of about 5 MB/second minimum ... in addition to monthly data limits high enough to allow streaming of a month's worth of HD movies.

Typical 4G speeds are usually around 5 MP/second on up, but it can vary at lot. 3G speeds are not fast enough for streaming HD. I stream Neflix in HD at home and images in HD sure are a lot more natural and rich looking. It's too bad it's so hit-or-miss and expensive to stream HD from many RV camping places throughout the U.S.. Maybe someday this will be more feasible for campers.
  • We have a Verizon jet-pack. We don't stream movies with it, but they have different models with different capacities, and it works virtually everywhere.
