Mice can find entry points that YOU can neither see nor get to.
The can get through some crazy small spaces. I find them in my irrigation system valve boxes all the time. There is a slot maybe 1/4" wide at most on the lid where a lock would go that they must be squeezing through. We play a little game where I open up the lid, they are shocked and surprised. I hang out for a minute or two and they scurry out. I clean out the nest and a week later they're back. So far they haven't chewed anything up so I don't care, but I don't want to get bit while I'm working in there.
