Nationwide requirement for CDL when driving/towing over 10k?

Heard a rumor today from an RV dealer that legislation is coming that will require a CDL (Nationwide) when driving or towing anything over 10,000 lbs. Seems like just a rumor to me but don't put anyth...

CA has an RV endorsement for fivers between 10k - 15k lbs.
I just went thru it. Written test only, super easy.

Perhaps other states have something similar?
