Need 3" Sewer Hose Wrench That Actually Works

starting to lose strength in my hands and as a consequence i have occasional trouble attaching the bayonet-type sewer hose to the sewer connection on the in the wet bay and the clear elbow piece at the other end of the hose. i've tried the orange Camco type hose wrench but they don't work well...they keep slipping. tried an actual pipe wrench but don't want to crush the plastic. looking for other suggestions or a sewer hose wrench that actually work.
  • great idea! looks like a trip to HF is in order. thanks!!

I bought a set of three years ago and now the rubber straps are all dry rotted/cracked. Wow, I didn't know Harbor Freight carried those and cheap too. Got to get a couple. Thx

Have you considered a strap wrench? The rubber might be easier on the connection than metal.

That's exactly what I use on tight connections. I have two different sizes on board, with the smaller one kept in the kitchen for opening jars as needed.

  • :) Hi, Yes. Harbor Freight because they were in stock and cheap. No other reason. Buy two of them.
  • i’ll have to check that out. just any automotive oil filter wrench or was there something special about the ones at HF?

:) Hi, I had the same exact problem with my sewer hoses. I bought two pair of Oil Filter Wrenches/pliers from Harbor freight.
  • i think the probkem is that my hoses and accessiries may not be camco rhino flex. they all have tabs that seem to fit the wrench but the hose table are not flat and perpendicular to the hose. they are rounded songetting the wrench to grip is dufficult. i'd rather not replace my hoses as i carry several sections in pvc pipes slung under the MH chassis. i used to use the press-to-fit hoses and connectors but sold them when we bought our new MH in 2015 (it came with the hoses we're now using).
  • I've been using the Press-to-fit brand for about ten years. Takes less effort, never comes apart accidentally and stores easily because the ends are just round.

Another idea would be to use a Rhino Flex that's long enough that you dont have to add lengths. It just collapses or folds to hold shorter lengths when needed. If you leave the end on you would rarely have to deal with taking it apart.
